This glass masterpiece is the quintessence of the Faroe Islands. Faroese waters are abundant in fish and fishing is the main industry on the archipelago. These 22cm (8,7 inches) long glass pieces of different colors are melted into unique fish shapes. They will make a great decoration for your window frame, enrich you terrace or hall.
The fish were handmade by Sædis – a talented artsy soul from the village of Syðrugøta. She works as a teacher on daily basis, but glass works are her passion that she dedicates her free time to. In 2013 Sædis was diagnosed with cancer, which came as a shock to her and her beloved ones. The perspective of saying goodbye to the world seemed terrifying, but those who know Sædis can confirm that she is a fighter. She won that battle and has learned to truly enjoy every single day, as life is short and unpredictable. Sædis says that her life is just like glass. Once broken it can be turned into fantastic pieces and amazing forms. Here is your piece of the Faroe Islands handmade by Sædis.
*Since every fish is handmade individually, the shape, form and glass layout might slightly differ. Such small differences are not subject to complain.
